Car Week 2023

Starting this weekend thousands of people will be making the Monterey Peninsula home for the week as the area becomes the center of the car universe for the annual Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance.

Here are a few places to see some amazing cars without a ticket or entry fee

Downtown Monterey, the Portola Plaza and the Marriott are sectioned off for automobiles heading to auction ranging from European classics, to hot-rods and muscle cars, to VW buses and  beloved Toyota Land Cruisers.

One of the best events to see the cars that appear during the Concours D'Elegance is the Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance. Starting at 7:00 am by the practice facility in Pebble Beach, more than 150 cars start running and lining up for tour and depart at 9:00 am. Here is a link to the event.

There is also an opportunity to see classic Ferraris on Ocean Avenue in downtown Carmel.  On Thursday, August 17, The Prancing Ponies takes place from 11 am – 4 pm where you can definitely see the cars. It's free to kids under 13.  We'll be at our office on San Carlos Avenue 2SW of 6th so stop by for a pitstop and refreshment.

So many events all week

Beyond cars, it is an event about people.  It is where you can spend hours people watching and seeing big hats, big boots, big heels and have some big fun.

Wednesday, August 16 – Motolux is an evening event where this goes beyond exquisite cars and includes classic airplanes, private jets and even a showcase on space travel.

Friday, August 18 - The Quail is one of the hardest tickets to get all week. This year it will focus on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 RS Carrera, Porsche 959s, Early Bentley 1950s R-Type Coupes, and Eyes on Italian Design. Beyond the cars it can be about celebrities here....with Brad Pitt taking in the show last year.

Sunday, August 20 - The Concours D'Elegance is the culmination of the week. Set on the 17th and 18th Fairways of Pebble Beach golf links it is a sight to see. If you've never been....or you've been several times; it is always an event to get out, take in and enjoy.
